Step by step
Design Thinking approach
Back to all toolsDescription
- Youth is introduced to the design thinking approach as a five-step process – Emaptize – Define- Ideate- Prototype-Test.
- The leader discusses with the youth the actions of the previous stages, asking the adolescent to formulate the result achieved at each stage – both the work done in the worksheets (tangible result) and the discovered, experienced (intangible result) of the young person.
- The leader sparks a conversation about how each stage performed corresponds to the design thinking approach (5 steps), discussing with adolesecents which steps of the design process have already been completed, thus reaching an achievable step 4 – prototyping.
- Adolescents are encouraged to share ideas on how they think a prototyping can be done for their future lives.
