Life Collage

Back to all tools

Description

  1. The facilitator starts with warm-up questions about the concept of quality of life and its constituent components.
  2. In large audiences, adolescents can divide into groups of 3-4 people to discuss which areas in their lives are the most important for them now, which will be important in the future, and how they are doing (or what difficulties they should experience) in each of them. While working 1 on 1, a brief discussion with the leader is enough.
  3. The task can be done either manually, using cut out images from magazines, or electronically, using images available on the Internet.
  4. Participants are invited to create a life collage for different life periods: 1 year, 3 years, 5 years and/or 10 years ahead.
  5. When creating a collage, participants can present it to each other. Verbalising your plans to give them more credibility can serve as encouragement.
  6. When the collage of life is ready, the young person is invited to think about the real actions that should be taken to achieve the dream itself.
